Can you code?
We had a look at this site last week so we could start learning to code - to program a computer with a set of instructions to perform a task.
https://code.org/
Enter in through Students and we began on Course 2. We started out making the Stage 3: Maze Sequence where we had to Angry Bird move through the maze to the piggie, then moved on to finishing the drawing in Stage 4 Artist Sequence.
You can have a go at coding! It's fun, a great chance to develop problem solving and thinking skills.
What Stage can you get up to?
Welcome! We are a great group of Year 5&6 students working hard to achieve our goals and make the most of our learning here at St Patrick's in Te Awamutu. We want to share with you examples of our learning, our work and the stuff we get up to in Room 8.

It's Olympic Time!!
We're going use some of our time to explore some parts of the Olympic Games. You'll get the chance to research a part of the games, such as: the torch, rings, mascots, host city, medals, leaders, Early Olympics and much more!
Here are some links that you might find useful:

Digital Citizenship
We have been learning about what it means to be a digital citizen and how to keep safe online. We know this means that we need to act respectfully when we are interacting with others while using a digital device.
Here is a link to some Digital Citizenship interactives that you could have a look at at home.

Back to School!
Time to set the alarm clock again, find the school uniform, pack the school bag
and find the rhythm of being back at school.
It's my goal this year to use this class blog as a way to share news, learning, thought and stories about what we're doing in class.
Watch this space......
